Single Aquarians

Of all the zodiac signs, Aquarians are the most likely to marry later in life and be single for longer periods of time. At least this is what you read in a lot of the astrology books. And just from my own personal observations, I've found it to be true that Aquarians tend to marry later than most other signs.

This is usually attributed to the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus. Uranus is freedom-loving, and can often be erratic and even eccentric. Aquarians are less afraid of snubbing convention and more at home with their independence than the typcial person would be.

Aquarius is heavily emphasized in my chart and I didn't marry until I was 38. Not only is Uranus the ruler of all my planets placed in Aquarius, but it also squares my weak Scorpio moon. I suffered a lot in thinking I would never find my mate and always be single. I was not often at a loss for boyfriends, but the 'fated husband' was a long-time in coming. I'm so very thankful I waited in retrospect, and only wish I could have enjoyed my single years more, and that I had had the relaxed faith that I would eventually find my life partner.

Someone recently pointed me to a neat website. The title is "I can't believe I'm still single". The author is a successful New York movie maker who turned 44 this year. And guess what sign he is?

This guy is extremely Aquarian. He has a stellium in Aquarius including Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. His Sun/Saturn/Venus are locked together within one degree. And though we don't know what time he was born, it's quite likely that his very powerful Uranus (conjunct Regulus), the ruler of all these planets is also not so gently suffocating his Moon in late Leo. He was born January 22, 1962. He probably knows nothing about astrology, but he might want sit up and take notice; maybe even read some stuff on Moon/Uranus conjunctions and Aquarians in general.

In any case, his new site is a representative case study of the single Aquarian ;-).

An Update for 1962 Aquarians

Here's a long overdue update for people who've joined the 1962 Aquarius survey list.

We're up to about sixty people now. We still have a long way to go to get to two hundred. Since I put out the initial call almost two years ago, I'm sure some people may have already lost interest in participating. Also, a few people gave me secondary email addresses that may no longer be active.

So, I expect of the sixty we may only see 2/3 actually participating once we're ready to go.

It may be another year before we've got enough people to get this survey off and going! So hold tight and check in every once in a while.

Here's two emails I received from a 1962 Aquarian that I'm sure you will find very interesting.

Hi,
I just found your blog via starlightnews and was happy to see your interest in aqua62s. I do recall reading your article in '96. I'd like to take part in your survey and will try to round up any others I happen to meet. Maybe by 2012 we'll make it to 200. Have you posted announcements on other astrology blogs/forums?

I was born on 1/22 and both of the sign's rulers are super strong in my chart. I have an exact to the minute conjunction of sun /saturn, and moon and uranus are conjunct on the asc.

I started reading astrology books when I was 12 or 13 and by age 14 I had hand calculated my birthchart (those were the days eh?). I have been studying astrology ever since but have never tried to get credentials and make a living of it.

I have always wanted to meet my astro twin as it would be the ultimate proof of astrology's validity for me personally. Despite all these years of experience with it, I still sometimes have my doubts and wonder if it's all in my head. Well, last summer I had the opportunity to meet an almost astro-twin. He contacted me via online personals and we found out we were born 7.5 hrs apart in the same zone. We only met for 2 hours but it felt like talking with a friend you hadn't seen in years. And we were remarkably similar (in spite of the 7 hours and different gender) in looks, interests, philosophy and psychology. It was a weird experience.

Now that I've found this site maybe I can find a more exact astro twin. I noticed one post from a woman born 1/22.

************

I have an idea for that survey: one would think there would be an obvious difference in dominant character trait /life path between the early aquastells who have the sun/ven/saturn conjunction versus the later ones with sun/ven/jup.

Also, the early ones would have merc/jup vs merc/sat; and then there's the less glaring difference of venus/sat vs mars/sat.

Of course all those shifting planets get more complicated than that but Jupter and Saturn are very basic opposite energies and might be the clearest to document.

It's really cool how the earlies have the inward or contractive basic character (sun) with an expansive mind while the laters are the opposite or complement.

Anyway, the survey could be set up to have a look at that if there was a large enough group. What do you think? Maybe you were already considering that anyway. On the other hand it might not be a good idea to stir up divisiveness among the aquastells for we are all One. Solidarity forever!

These are very interesting points! What do you guys think?

P.S. If you haven't already done so, please introduce yourself at the meeting spot.

Pluto Denigrated to a Dwarf Planet?

It looks like astronomers meeting now in Prague are going to reclassify Pluto. They don't think it should be considered a full-scale planet and they are going to classify it as a 'dwarf planet'.

They can do what they think is best I suppose, but astrologers would strongly disagree as to the weight of influence of Pluto in the solar system.

Personally I've experienced three of my most trying life traumas during Pluto transits. The most recent one, about three years ago, I was taken to small claims court by an unhappy and jealous ex-boyfriend as Pluto conjuncted my Descendant. We had separated about four years previous to that but he waited (not knowing anything about astrology) till Pluto was on my Descendant to harass me ;-). Thankfully the case was thrown out of court but it was very emotionally charged for me.

Many years ago my mother died as Pluto squared my Sun.

And when Pluto conjuncted my Moon, I would have to say that year was the most emotionally-trying year in my life so far.

Pluto may be small in size but it carries an incredible punch. Pluto ain't no dwarf planet. Anyone else want to vouch for the power of Pluto transits?

Ceres to Join the Planets?

Astronomers are meeting in Prague right now to finally put an end to the nebulous existing definition they use for what exactly constitutes a planet. If one of their central proposals go through, we will soon see three new planets in the solar system.

One is the asteroid Ceres. When Ceres was first discovered in 1801, it was considered a planet by astronomers, but it was soon demoted to the status of an asteroid because astronomers couldn't figure out its shape.

This seems like a very good time in human evolution to recognize Ceres as a planet. Ceres is recognized by astrologers as representing nurturing qualities. It's placement in our chart gives clues about how we nurture and care for other people as well as ourselves. Ceres is also deeply associated with our caring and nurturing relationship to the Earth; to the land and the health of the environment.

In human health, Ceres is associated with the womb and stomach.

According to Nick Anthony Fiorenza potential Ceres issues are: fear of abundance, lack and material struggle; low self esteem; unworthiness; abandonment / rejection issues expressing as attachment to people and things, manipulation of loved ones, over-attachment to siblings, possessiveness, and control of siblings or of one's creations; mother-child complexes; barrenness.

Ceres takes 4.6 years to orbit around the Sun.

It is very interesting that just now, as it's very status is being discussed, it is exactly conjunct Neptune at 18 degrees Aquarius. What might that mean??? ;-)

Sabian Symbols and Evolving Images

There are 360 degrees in the zodiac. And thirty degrees for each sign, including Aquarius.

Have you ever looked into the meaning of the degree where your Sun is placed in Aquarius? Each degree has been assigned a unique meaning by a system called Sabian symbols. Sabian symbols were created by clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler back in 1925. A lot of astrologers use them to help them conjure up useful images for their clients.

You can analyze Sabian symbols for any point in your chart, but most often people are most interested in their Sun and Ascendant degree interpretations. Sabian Symbols are always rounded up to the next degree. So for example, if your Sun is at 19 degrees and 17 minutes Aquarius, the 20 degree Aquarius sabian symbol would be the correct interpretation for you.

In my case I have a Sun/Venus conjunction at between 10 and 11 degrees of Aquarius. Here the sabian interpretation is : During a silent hour, a man receives a new inspiration which may change his life.

This has a very personal meaning for me. I won't go into it but it is extremely good counsel for me.

And now we have a new way of looking at each of the 360 degrees. Astrologer Michael Ax and artist Lyle van Loon have created an image and a corresponding phrase for each of the degrees. They have over twenty years of astrological analysis and their insights are very interesting. Their work is inspired by extensive study of Rudhyar, Jones and Goldsmith.

See what they have to say about the zodiac degree you may be interested in visualizing.

For my Aquarian degree between 10-11 Aquarius, they have created the image above. The phrase belonging to it is Synthetic Vision: the experience of knowing solutions to complex issues in the world and deciding to put one's life in gear to bring these solution into being.

Now for the first time we have images to associate with each of the 360 degrees.

See also an abbreviated version of the classic Sabian Symbols meanings at Cafe Astrology.

Crisis and the Outer Planets

We all want to avoid suffering. We all seek for joy and security in our lives. But tragedy and crisis are bound to hit us all at some point. Often these life-changing events occur during a transit of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto on one of the key pivot points in our charts.

Check out a good introduction on how these transits can manifest themselves in our lives. This was written by Lynn Hayes. She also writes a very popular astrology blog.

If you'd like to see an excellent summary of what's in store for planetary action this month, check out her astrology overview for July 2006.

Aquarian Justin Timberlake - Astrology Chart

Justin Timberlake is a famous Aquarian musician and actor born on January 31, 1981.

His ascendant is in dramatic Leo (and conjunct the most powerful of fixed stars; Regulus).

His Sun is at 12 degrees Aquarius with a Moon in Sagittarius.

Justin's Pluto is trine his Mars and sextile his Moon.

He's got a complex and energetic natal chart, with Mars and Mercury conjunct his Descendant in Aquarius.

Justin Timberlake has dated some very powerful female personalities, including Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Cameron Diaz.

He met Britney Spears when he was only about 12 years old and they started dating when he was about sixteen. They were together for many years. His Sun in Aquarius is exactly conjunct her Moon in Aquarius. The Sun conjunct Moon in comparison charts is often considered the single most powerful astrological sign of true love between a man and a woman. In their case, his Moon is also in the same sign as Britney's Sun (Sagittarius). It seemed that they were meant to be, but they split up for secret reasons back in 2002.

Justin is currently in a relationship with Cameron Diaz. There are rumors swirling that the couple may be on the verge of a break-up.

Justin has been undergoing a difficult Pluto transit recently. His Moon is conjunct Neptune at 24 degrees Sagittarius. Pluto has been sitting heavily on this degree in Sagittarius for at least a year. And it is now doing one more round, and stationing directly on his Moon/Neptune over the next few months. Saturn is also opposing his Sun at this time.

See AstroDataBank for more info about his natal chart.

Here's an interview he did with Barbara Walters a few years ago, just after his break-up with Britney Spears. Here we see he is somewhat of a perfectionist who works hard and likes things clean and tidy. (His chart ruler, the Sun, is in Aquarius in the sixth house.)

What more interesting things do you see about his chart here?

Aquarius: Facial Characteristics

Meg Wilson has created a poll that might interest astrology buffs. She asks if it's possible to guess a person's zodiac sign based on their appearance.

Most astrologers claim you can make an educated guess as to a person's rising sign based on their physical appearance. This would be even more likely if the Ascendant sign also holds some other personal planets (such as Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, or Mercury) or if it is heavily aspected and prominent in the birth chart.

Note that the two celebrities Meg has chosen here have both their Sun and Ascendant together in the same signs. In fact they both have a Sun/Ascendant conjunction. A Sun/Ascendant conjunction can throw the guess off by giving an Aries flavor to the appearance of any rising zodiac sign. I would guess that's where the strong noses come in for both these guys ;-)

This poll is free for anyone to place on their website. So let me know if you decide to do this and I'll link to your site to get more votes going.

Angelina Jolie's Baby

Update May 27th: Shiloh was born on May 27th, see below.

Angelina Jolie is due to give birth to her first biological baby any day now. Some say jokingly that this is the most anticipated birth since Jesus Christ. The media are already working up a frenzy about this. We can be sure we will hear about it all day and the next day on all the national news channels as soon as it happens.

The rights to the first photo of the baby have apparently already been sold for $5 million. Proceeds will go to a UNICEF child charity.

Jolie and Brad Pitt's baby will be born in Namibia, Africa. Would anybody like to try guessing as to when the baby might be born based on Angelina Jolie's birth chart?

Update May 26th: In Touch Weekly Magazine say they have been given the inside scoop that Angelina Jolie is giving birth tomorrow (Saturday) via a planned caesarian. They say this c-section has been called for due to a minor complication and that Angelina's due date was actually June 3rd. I haven't looked into her natal chart to see if there's something significant for tomorrow, I'd much appreciate any comments from anyone who has time to look into this.

Update: May 27th. Angelina and Brad's baby girl was born at night in Namibia today on May 27th. They named her Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

The big Conjunction in Aquarius in 1962

I received a fascinating email from an Aquarian born in 1962 today. As some readers here know, I am trying to get a minimum of two hundred 1962 Aquarians to participate in a survey. (We're at close to fifty people now.) Aquarians born in 1962 have the highest concentration of planets in Aquarius of any people born at any time in history.

The note I received from this 1962 Aquarian included the following comment:

"Years ago, when I was only 9 or 10, I read my first astrology book. The author referred to 1962 conjunction-eclipse Aquarians in the introduction. He reported that vedic astrologers believed these individuals were incarnated avatars ! It was such a peculiar statement (and being only a child, I had to look up the meaning of "avatar") that I have never forgotten it, although I cannot recall title or author of that old book. Since we are now in our 40's and 2012 approaches, I wonder how many of us are consciously involved with lightworks - energetic healing, counselling, environmental causes etc. - to me this would the practical expression of "avatar-ship". I do wonder why none of our group has made major public contributions to date (except the athletes noted in one survey)since our charts should ordain us as highly intelligent, group-organizing, progressive visionaries with a unique social consciousness ... "
Well I personally don't know the meaning of the term Avatar. Though I've seen it used in the web context, where people design their own 'avatar' figurines in forums, virtual worlds and other online settings. So I looked up the term in the online dictionary. The answer was:

  • The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.
Wikipedia has a very long section about what avatars are. Here's a brief excerpt:
In Hinduism, an avatar or avatara or avataram (Sanskrit अवतार), is the incarnation (bodily manifestation) of an Immortal Being, or of the Ultimate Supreme Being. It derives from the Sanskrit word avatāra which means "descent" and usually implies a deliberate descent into mortal realms for special purposes. The term is used primarily in Hinduism, for incarnations of Vishnu the Preserver, whom many Hindus worship as God.

I don't think it's a good idea for 1962 Aquarians to start thinking they are some sort of special gifted species, but on the other hand I find this kind of information intriguing.

Does anyone know the book source of this quote about 1962 Aquarian avatars? I'd much appreciate any comments from people around this whole issue.

And lastly, if you are an Aquarian born in 1962 and have not yet introduced yourself at the inital meeting spot, please look into this.

Astrology and Synastry

Synastry is the astrological comparison of two people's charts to assess what kind of relationship they are likely to have with each other.

Carol Willis has written a very detailed summary of synastry aspects between two charts. Here's her notes on your Sun aspecting another person's Moon:

Another's planets conjoining our Sun tend to get our
attention and are hard to ignore. There are issues of
respect, power, admiration, authority, identity, self,
health and vitality, well-being, self-confidence, radiance,
and success.

Moon conjunct Sun: usually a strong attraction, lots in common, quick bonding and mutual understanding, openness to each other. Even if not a tight conjunction, having Moon and Sun in the same sign in any degree is a very important aspect in synastry, and usually makes for high compatibility
potential and attraction if not mitigated by other astrological and social/ethical/therapeutic factors. Moon opposition Sun usually brings out the complementary nature of both, and is actually a positive aspect in relationship
most of the time.

Check out her excellent article on synastry here.

Angelina Jolie's Natal Chart

Angelina Jolie fascinates me these days. I think she might have a profound impact on the current Hollywood zeitgeist. She seems to be quite different from the typical shopping-crazed Hollywood celebrity. The photos I've seen of her in the last few months usually feature the same low-key black clothes and even the same handbag. More significantly she has probably done more for raising the image of third world adoption than anyone else.

Angelina Jolie is a Gemini born June 4th 1975. She has some very lucky aspects in her natal chart. Her Venus is conjunct her Ascendant and that would jive astrologically with her mesmerizing beauty. The ascendant is all about how we appear to others, so those people who are lucky to have Venus conjunct Ascendant are bound to be physically attractive regardless of which Zodiac sign this is in. In her case, this Venus in Cancer is also squared Uranus at 29 degrees of Libra, so that adds even more magnetic appeal to her appearance. Jolie was named the most beautiful woman in the world by People Magazine this year.

She's set her goal as that of helping orphaned children in the developing world. Recently she was spotted leaving a Paris hotel with some not so light reading under her arm. It was a copy of Condemned to Repeat: The Paradox of Humanitarian Action. The thesis of this book is about how charity agencies should be more ethical and avoid supporting the oppressors of people in the Third World.

In her earlier years Angelina was a troubled teenager but she has found a way to move beyond the ego and attain a higher level of happiness via this central cause in her life.

Angelina has Jupiter exactly conjunct Midheaven in Aries. Also found there, a few degrees off the Midheaven in her 9th house, is a Moon/Mars conjunction which is sextile her 11th house Sun in Gemini and trine Neptune is Sagittarius. With such a strong natal chart and sense of justice, Angelina could have great influence in elevating the Hollywood zeitgeist to a new plane.

Virgo Characteristics

If you have any Virgo friends, you've probably heard them complain about the tepid descriptions they often see about their Sun sign. Isthmus Nekoi has just taken a huge step to correct this. She notes how the typical Virgo description goes like this;
Oh maligned Virgo, you're possibly the most boring sign of the zodiac. By now we all know the old sun sign drill: she's overly critical, prudish, frigid, anal-retentive, borderline OCD. At best, the sign is characterized by a highly efficient, analytical worker drone with superior attention to detail. At worst, she's a rigid, aseptic, unfeeling perfectionist more suited to life in the Borg collective than with humanity.
And then she corrects this tired stereotype with some very interesting and profound observations about what the Virgo Sun Sign is actually truly about. Your Virgo friends will appreciate reading this!

And people may also be interested to know that Forbes Magazine has just hired four astrologers to look at the zodiac signs of the world's billionaires. They found there were more Virgo Sun signs on their list than any other zodiac sign. They confirmed the birth dates of 613 people on their list of 793 billionaries. Of those, about twelve percent were born with a Virgo Sun.

An excerpt from Forbes Magazine;
"It's a bit ironic that top astrology honors for this male-dominated billionaires list goes to the sign symbolized by a virgin, but it actually isn't too surprising. Virgos are known to be hardworking, determined, detail-oriented and analytical. They are driven more by their desire to achieve excellence at whatever they do than by the pursuit of riches, according to astrologer Michael Lutin.

These utilitarian types are happiest when they can produce things or services that are useful to others."

It's quite unusual for Forbes to have this kind of emphasis on astrology. Maybe it's a sign of things to come?

Check out the Forbes Astrology article here. They give examples of famous billionaires for all twelve zodiac signs.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse - March 29th

There is a New Moon next week on March 29th. This new moon is also a solar eclipse. The Sun and Moon connect at eight degrees of Aries.

This particular solar eclipse series last occurred in March of 1988 (at 28 degrees of Pisces). According to Bernadette Brady's book Predictive Astrologythis eclipse series is centered around inventiveness and flashes of genius;

The individual will have intuitive leaps, insights, good ideas, visions or vivid dreams. This new-found-inspiration will pull the person away from his or her social life or relationship, thereby causing strain in the private life. This is a time when the person needs to be free, if only for a few weeks.

The Uranus/Mercury conjunction at 13 degrees of Pisces on the day of this new Moon seems to emphasize the particular vibe of this Saros Series.

This new moon solar eclipse will particularly impact those people who have personal planets aspecting between six and ten degrees of Aries. It will also be felt by those Aquarians who have a planet at around 22 degrees of Aquarius, as this is where Venus is placed during this new Moon, closely trining Mars in Gemini.

Auspicious Time to Start a New Venture?

Someone emailed me this question a couple of weeks ago:

Hey,
I am launching a site on March 21, 2006. Where would the best place be to find if this is an auspicious time for an Aquarian such as myself (2/10/72)?

I think the answer to this could take up all the pages of a long astrology book. But here are some brief pointers. I hope other people will add their thoughts too.

If you are going to look to astrology to find an auspicious date to start a new venture, you need to look at the chart for the proposed starting time as well as your own natal chart.

In the new venture chart, try to avoid having Moon in hard aspect (conjunction, square or opposition) to Saturn. The Moon represents your new sites audience or the potential customers for your new business. If you can also avoid having the Moon in hard aspect to Uranus, Pluto or Mars, all the better.

Don't start something you want to last a long time in the last days before a New Moon. It's best to wait for the waxing moon, the half of each month when the Moon is increasing in light as this is a better time for promoting growth and prosperity.

It's always nice to have Jupiter or Venus conjuncting or in good aspect to any of the other planets and especially the Sun, Moon and ruling planet.

When you compare the two charts (yours and the new venture) try to choose a date where your Moon and Sun are in good aspect to the key placements in the new venture chart.

Does anyone know of a good website that discusses this in detail? What other factors would others suggest here?

Free I Ching: Ask Your Question Here

Do you have a question you would like answered about your future? I've created this free I Ching board here. It's probably much more meaningful and helpful than the typical phone-in psychics session where you pay $3.99 per minute. And it is more detailed in its answer than many automated computer astrology reports.

Here's how it works:

Think of a question you would like answered. Be careful and honorable about what you ask. Respect the energies of the macrocosm. You've only got one chance to ask a particular question. The first answer will be the most appropriate one for you.

(Please don't play yet, finish reading the instructions first)

Write your question in the box above (or write it privately on a piece of paper). Make sure to take the time to actually write down the question. Trust me, you will want to know exactly what you asked when you are analyzing the answer.

Hit the black submit button.

Your answer will come up as a number (one of sixty-four hexagrams). Go to this page to get the full answer corresponding to the number. Print out the answer. It will be at least a page long. Study the answer and decipher what it means for you.

There is a second level to this answer based on 'lines'. There are six options. Roll a dice to see which one applies to you.

The I Ching is also known as "The Book of Changes". Its origin goes back to mythical antiquity and it has occupied the attention of the most eminent scholars of China down to the present day. Carl Jung wrote the Foreward for the most popular edition. Here Jung says "For more than thirty years I have interested myself in this oracle technique, or method of exploring the unconscious, for it has seemed to me of uncommon significance."

Was the answer significant for you? Would love to hear any comments below.

Psychic Junkies

I don't usually read the New York Times these days but I happened to pick it up this weekend. There was a great article there about a woman who used to be "a psychic junkie" not too long ago. At the worst point in her habit, she was spending about $1,000 per month on online and telephone psychic readings.

Her name is Sarah Lassez and she has since written a book, "Psychic Junkie: A Memoir" to help others who find themselves in the same boat. The book will be available in July. She's also set up a website and online support group.

Personally, I've gone to about three or four psychic readings over the years. In each case I went when I was under relationship or job stress (and in the midst of very heavy-duty transits). I've also seen three astrologers for personal readings and one of them became my trusted astrologer who I visited at least five times over a few years. Aside from her expertise in astrology, this woman also seemed to have strongly developed psychic skills. Unfortunately she retired a few years ago due to bad health.

I didn't happen to have a great personal experience with any of the three psychics I went to. I thought they were kind of scammy and I didn't get the sense they had special skills. But I found the astrology readings really helpful and fun on some level. I thought I got my money's worth there.

I would imagine that this business of online readings has become a rapidly growing problem in the last few years. There are so many online phone-in psychic and astrology reading sites that it must be a booming business. I would guess that many of these venues are scams and prey on people in distress.

What has been people's experience out there?

1962 Aquarius - Update

I posted about an initial meeting spot for Aquarians born in 1962 last month. So far we've had 33 comments from about 15 people. Thanks much to all of you for getting this started!

Ken Paul has also set up a Yahoo Group as well as a website at Aquarius1962.org.

We are still waiting for the hesitant Aquastells to at least briefly introduce themselves anonymously. So please drop by and leave a note in the comments section at the initial meeting spot here.

I've had about thirty-five 1962 Aquarian people email me over the past year. Based on the recent traffic growth to this website due to a better position in the search engines, I am sure we will see a lot more Aquastells this year, but it will still take time. So hold on everyone and please check in periodically.

Harvey Sid Fisher's Zodiac Genius

I was quite intrigued by the Aquarius song video I saw for the first time yesterday.

I'd never heard of Harvey Sid Fisher before, but apparently he has quite a large cult following based on this memorable video he recorded (and self-released) way back in 1988. It's called "Astrology Songs" or "Harvey Sid Fishers Zodiac Collection".

I wondered how the Aquarius song differed from the other eleven signs. I've only sampled three so far, but they are really unique, funny and well done. Harvey must know quite a bit about astrology. (Apparently he is a Sagittarian. I would bet his rising sign is Leo :-)) Check out this two minute video on the Scorpio sign for some humorous entertainment.

I'm not sure what the copyright says about me posting this piece from his video here. Now that someone has uploaded it to YouTube (as of last week) I think it's going to receive a ton of traffic over the next few months. If he asked YouTube to remove it they would have to comply. But it could be his best promotion opportunity yet. Once you've seen one of these songs the first thought is "Whoa, where did this come from?...Who is this guy???"

Venus Enters Aquarius

Venus will enter Aquarius on March 5th and move through the sign for one month, until April 5th. At some point throughout this one month period all Aquarians will feel the benefic rays of Venus over their Sun for about a three day period. (If for example, you were born in mid Aquarius, between February 2nd to February 6th) you will feel the Venusian influence most strongly, halfway through its cycle in Aquarius; between March 20th and March 25th.

A Venus transit conjuncting your Sun is a pleasant time when you will appear more graceful and attractive to others. It also usually indicates a greater whirl of social and cultural activities in your daily life.

This year the Venus transit is strengthened in Aquarius because Mars will be trining it from airy Gemini throughout this whole time. The tightest trine point will be at about 19-20 degrees Aquarius, when Mars is simultaneously at 19-20 Gemini. This will occur around March 25th to the 29th. This ray from Mars will raise the volume on sexual feelings and love desire. It can also assist you be more productively creative.

Neptune is at 18 degrees Aquarius. So this trine of Venus and Mars will be further enhanced by a conjunction of Venus/Neptune in late March. This could add some real fantasy peaks to the imagination when it comes to creative outlets as well as romantic affairs.

Reader Feedback

I received an interesting email today. It's the first time someone has written here to tell me what I'm like based on my writing style and basic birth data:

"... is my pen name.
I subscribe to your Aquarian Digest blog.
I am a Gemini with Scorpio rising (Leo moon 9th house). I have been married twice both times to Aquarian women (still married). I have an affinity to Aquarians and fortunately still have no idea what makes them tick.
I am reading your blog with great interest and would like to thank you for putting yourself out there. I became interested in Astrology 20+ years ago and occasionally dabble there.
You express yourself with an air of detachment and aloofness that intrigues me. Exclusive communication with a sense that you are in control.
In Numerology your numbers are (01/30/1962) 1-3-9 = 4. This might indicate that you have an organized mind but a disorganized life (guessing). There might have been no talking to you until 1989 when at that time you opened up to the world and life became more fun. I suspect you are starting to realize that being lucky is more important than being smart. You are an air person (3 of the day) so abstract concepts are very real for you and you identify with (if you can touch it, it's not real).
As for life right now you have no vision or sense of the future. You are in a heads down time and best to be cleaning out your closets. Things looked really optimistic last year but now things have got bogged down. Slow down and don't try to make things happen.

Okay got to run, the new moon having its way with me."

Thanks for your comments.

I don't know much about numerology but I always thought my birth number was 22. I like 22 better than four. It seems to imply less hard work and more boundless potential ;-)

Interesting you should use the word 'detached' to describe my personality just given my writing style. I've always had lots of friends yet other people have used this word to describe me as well (though not so much as I've gotten older). (Eek, I won't even comment on the aloof part, that's a more serious thing. Do I really come across as aloof??) But being somewhat detached is usually seen a relatively common characteristic of Aquarians, don't people agree?

Yes, 1989 was much more fun; that's when I started drinking in earnest. That's also when I finally got my M.A. and started getting my life together. 1988 had been one tragedy after another.

Cleaning out closets is definitely the therapeutic thing I should be doing these days. Thanks again for the comments.

Mars Transit in Gemini

Mars has finally moved out of Taurus where it's been for the past six months and is now beginning its transit through Gemini. A Gemini transit of Mars is much more friendly for Aquarians. Mars will now trine your Aquarian Sun and any other planets you have in Aquarius. This will help to energize you to work towards your goals.

Mars entered Gemini on February 17th and will stay here until April 12th.

For Aquarians, the Mars move out of Taurus into Gemini will be uplifting; like a breath of fresh air. It will lighten your mood and energize your daily activities. For about a week sometime over the next seven weeks, depending on when you were born in Aquarius; - Mars will be trining your Sun.

A Mars trine Sun transit is very energizing. It can enable you to breakthrough in whatever area you have been stuck in recently. It can make you much more geared to meeting your goals, so if you have been thinking about a beginning a fitness routine, for example, this is a great time to go for it.

Although a Mars transit through Gemini can make some people more verbally argumentative, this will not generally be true for Aquarians. This Mars transit is likely to make you more confident and decisive in your daily decisions and interactions with other people.

More About Me

I received this email today:
"...I would like to know more how you came to create this site your self and are you an aquarian. I would also like to know if you work as a professional astrologer and would you consider doing my own chart."

I thought other people may be interested to know a little about me, so here goes;

I'm a 1962 Aquarian, born January 30th. I don't know what time I was born and my mother died before I developed an interest in astrology, so I will probably never find out. But my chart has been rectified by a couple of astrologers and I believe my Ascendant is at about 23 degrees Gemini. My Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Midheaven are all in Aquarius. My Moon is in the last degrees of Scorpio, squaring Uranus; the ruler of all my Aquarian planets.

My interest in astrology started when I was in my late twenties. Once I got past Sun sign astrology I found it really helpful as a means of psychological self-analysis. And I was fascinated by the predictive possibilities. I had studied philosophy and psychology in University, but I found advanced astrology to be much more interesting in many respects. The study of astrology was what eventually led me to eastern philosophy. I joined a Zen Centre for regular meditation in 1996 and if I was asked to divide my life into two distinct phases, this wonderful discovery would be it.

I have an MA in Economics and had quite an exhilarating career throughout my late twenties and thirties. I got married late in life and now, at the age of 44, have a two-year old baby. Here's a photo of the little goo. My secretive, privacy-loving and precariously-aspected Scorpio Moon is responsible for my reluctance to post my own photo.

I'm not a professional astrologer and have no astrology designation. I did publish an article in Mountain Astrologer back in 1996 and I have done tons of chart readings for my friends over the years. But it still takes me a few hours to read and really understand a chart. These days I really don't have the time for this, so I've stopped doing readings. My thought is that to be a good astrologer, you not only need to have a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of astrology, but you need also to be blessed with a bit of psychic prowess. I lack the psychic part. Recently, I've had a few requests from readers of this site to do a personal chart reading for them. Unfortunately, I'm not able to do this now.

I started this site over a year ago and at that time I had more spare time. Now, in 2006 I am swamped with other commitments and don't have as much time for this site as I would like. Maybe this will change again in the near future. One of the main objectives of starting this site was to connect other 1962 Aquarians together. See more about that here.

I would love to see other people participate and contribute short posts on any matter related to Aquarius, Aquarians and astrology. I am especially interested in personal stories. Please email me!

My thanks to everyone who reads Aquarian Digest.

Aquarius Birthday Photos

I'd like to start a collage of birthday photos from Aquarians. If you are an Aquarian, I'd love to hear from you and publish any photos. Please send me your photos here. If you prefer anonymity that's fine, otherwise, please give me a link to your site that I can include with the photos.

Update March 11th: In the interests of expanding participation here, I'd like to put out this invitation to all Aquarians to send me any photo of yourself - it doesn't have to be taken on your birthday. Please include your birthdate and the date of the photo (and if you happen to know your ascendant and moon sign please add that) and any other info you want included.

Here we go, the first submission:

Christine, born February 9th, 1962, celebrating her 44th birthday.

She is a Taurus rising with a Moon in Aries.

Update February 2007: Thanks Christine, for the second photo celebrating your 45th birthday!

The next photo here was submitted by Madison. Madison was born in 1986 on February 9th. She is very, very Aquarian, with a huge stellium in Aquarius including Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. Her ascendant is in Scorpio. Thanks much for your pic!

Happy Birthday Sheryl Crow

Sheryl Crow is another extreme Aquarian. She has Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius. She was born February 11th, 1962. Her birth time is unknown. Her Aquarius Sun is at 22 degrees Aquarius and it squares her Moon at about 22 degrees Taurus. See her approximate natal chart here.

Sheryl Crow is a famous blues rock star and has sold over 25 million records. She has never married, but was engaged to be married this spring. Her fiancee was Lance Armstrong, the famous Tour De France champion. Unfortunately they just announced their split-up last week.

Crow's birth chart is such that the recent grand cross heavy duty transits (involving Saturn, Mars, Jupiter and Neptune) have had a major impact on her chart. The worst is now over (although without knowing the Ascendant placement we can't know for sure).

Sheryl Crow is about to embark on a tour for her new album which she has named "Wildflower". On her website she says Wildflower is deeply influenced by her relationship with Lance Armstrong.

Happy Birthday Eddie Izzard

Eddie Izzard is an extreme Aquarian. He has Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius. He also has Pluto conjunct his Ascendant. He was born on February 7th, 1962. His childhood wasn't easy; his mother died when he was six years old. Izzard has gone on to become one of the world's top comedians and is known for his brilliant stream of consciousness ramblings.

See Izzard's natal chart here. Read more about Izzard at Wikipedia.

An Anti-War Campaign by a 1962 Aquarian

I received the following email from a 1962 Aquarian recently:

Dear Moira,

A Very Aquarian Campaign

I have a request and ask your help. I have been writing for a US political publication at www.counterpunch.com and learned much from the serious journalists there and at Eric Francis' Political Waves site - about the state of the world. This learning though has left me angered, frustrated and led me to actively seek some solution to the situation in Iraq. One person can't do much though - but after all mail, calls and protests have been ignored by my government - I had to find some outlet and voice. So I established (just 2 weeks ago) www.armsagainstwar.info

This little campaign enables a symbol of unity to be shown all the time by anybody regardless of affiliation, religion, race, location, politics etc. I ask only that participants wear a strip of any white fabric around their arms until the war ends....no purchase necessary, no requirement for the wearer to travel, sign, risk arrest, spend money, take time off etc. The wearer is simply saying one thing "I WANT AN END TO THE WAR IN IRAQ". There are too many issues, too much wrong and too many lies for any of us to handle effectively - we have been spun into confusion and disarray. Anti-war/peace groups are not united as one effective voice and have agendas that not all can agree to. But, the vast majority (I firmly believe)can agree "I WANT AN END TO THE WAR IN IRAQ".....whatever their reasons for thinking so.

I would love your help in promoting this - please. The website www.armsagainstwar.info has received over 1800 unique visitors (over 8500) hits since the launch on 19th January 2006. There is an accompanying pledge at www.pledgebank.com/armsagainstwar that people can choose to sign too - if they wish, though not required.

I realise this simplistic idea sounds ineffective and too simple to work....but maybe, just maybe that is what we need to involve more people and unite as one force that lets the governments know we don't choose what they are doing. This is a way for people to take a step in the right direction (which for many who say they cannot make a difference, is the first step from standing still.

Added extra value - with the gradual erosion of our civil liberties meaning that there are things we can't say and places we can't say them - the white fabric armband is a solution. It offers the wearer the chance to make their opinion visible all the time, anywhere and without risk of arrest. It is peaceful and could, one day, be a highly visible bond between us - all who want "AN END TO THE WAR IN IRAQ".

Please help me.

1962 Stellium in Aquarius - Initial Meeting Spot

A year ago I asked Aquarians who were born in 1962 to contact me. These Aquarians are extremely Aquarian in that they have more planets in Aquarius than any other people born at any time in history.

I'm hoping to complete a detailed survey of 1962 Aquarians once I've heard from 200 people. For now I'd like to open the discussion boards to the twenty seven people who've responded so far (and anyone else who's found this site since then).

Please leave a comment below!

This can be the initial anonymous coffe-break place where people can introduce themselves and where we can start to get a good dialogue going. Please go ahead; ask your fellow 1962 Aquarians your questions and spill your guts about what it's like to be extremely Aquarian :-)

Best Aquarian Astrologer - Monthly Forecasts

If you haven't seen Maya del Mar's website and monthly forecasts, you may want to check it out.

I think as far as astrologers with web sites go, Maya is one of the top five worldwide. And she's an Aquarian. She's the author of the popular astrological site called Daykeeper Journal.

Each month she provides free forecast information, with more details available to those who decide to subscribe. See Maya's free monthly forecasts here.

Aquarian Dogs

The Chinese New Year begins every year on the Aquarian New Moon. On January 29 2006 we begin the Year of the Dog. The Year of the Dog is traditionally associated with justice and generosity.

Because the beginning of the Chinese New Year varies each year depending on when the New Moon falls in Aquarius, Aquarians need to
double-check the dates to see what animal they represent in Chinese astrology.

If you are a Dog, this is your year! It's also a lucky year for the Tiger and the Horse. The Dog is most compatible with people born in the year of the Tiger and Horse.

If you are an Aquarian Dog, according to
Lovegevity, you are creative and motivated, not as materialistic or showy as other zodiac sign dogs. You are an incredibly fair person who seeks cultural knowledge and sophistication.

What day of the week were you born?

I was at a dinner party last week and someone started reciting this nursery rhyme. This rhyme says your character will be determined partly based on what day of the week you were born.

Here is one version of it. The author is unknown:

Monday's Child is fair of face
Tuesday Child is full of grace
Wednesday's Child is full of woe
Thursday's Child has far to go
Friday's Child is loving and giving
Saturday's Child works hard for a living
But Sunday's Child is fair and wise
and good and gay

It seems that Sunday's child has the best luck in life. I was a Tuesday child so I don't take offense to this poem but it's not very kind to those of us born on Wednesday. I guess the 'woe' refers to undue mental stresses from an overactive Mercury.

Astrology consisted of only seven traditional 'planets' until just a century ago. These were each thought to represent one day of the week. The Sun was Sunday, Moon was Monday, Mars ('mardi' in French for Tuesday) was Tuesday, Mercury (Mercredi in french for Wednesday) was Wednesday, Jupiter (Jeudi in french for Thursday) was Thursday, Venus (vendredi in French for Friday) was Friday and Saturn was Saturday.

What day of the week were you born? Does this poem hold any meaning for you personally?

Ascendant, Sun and Moon: Physical Appearance

Have you ever wondered if someone who has the same Sun, Moon and rising sign as you may be a lot like you and even look like you?

According to astrology, this should be the case. But there has been little research done to see if it's true.

Astrofaces is one project that is trying to verify this by getting photos of people who know where their Ascendant, Sun and Moon are located in their birth charts. They use facial recognition software to analyze similarities. They've got many entries already but they need a lot more for this type of analysis given there are twelve rising signs, twelve moon signs and twelve sun signs.

Only one person in very 1,728 would share the same three zodiac signs as you.

I received this email from them:

This is to invite you to visit and review the Astrofaces research project.
The project seeks to verify astrology for modern science with photographs grouped by the sun, moon and ascendant of the subjects. It asks whether people who share the same sun, moon and ascendant resemble each other significantly. We are aiming for analysis with facial recognition software. If we can obtain objective measurements of faces that show resemblance correlated only to astrological factors, then modern scientists will be able to approach this ancient science. There are 2500 photos and an abstract to explain the project in detail. Hope you enjoy the site. Thank you, Moshe for the Astrofaces project

Check out this great project at

Aquarius 2006 - Forecast for Aquarians

Here's a look at the major planet activity in 2006. This post will only be meanigful to people who know how to read astrology charts. It's a summary of some of the major planet aspects and movements in 2006.

I'm not a fan of forecasts by zodiac sign. Every individual's horoscope is completely unique and creating a yearly forecast based on just where the Sun sign is placed in your chart is not valid astrology. But here are some broad generalizations.

Keep in mind that the last two months of 2005 were probably tougher on many Aquarians than any of the astrology aspects we will see in 2006. For Aquarians born between February 5th and 8th (and probably a couple of days on each side of these dates as well) note (see below) that you are experiencing a very powerful once in a lifetime Neptune transit this year.

Throughout January 2006:

Mars will be in the middle third of Taurus throughout January. This will provide a challenging and often energizing square to Aquarians who were born in mid Aquarius (with birthdays between February 1st to February 10th). Mars has already passed over these degrees twice in the fall of 2005 during it's unusually long transit through Taurus. This last pass-over may resolve (for better or worse) the issues that have been brewing since then. See the earlier post about the Mars transit through Taurus here.

Saturn will be opposing most Aquarians at some point this year. Throughout January Saturn will be transiting retrograde from 9 to 7 degrees of Leo. It will be opposing the Sun sign of early Aquarians and especially those born between January 27th to January 29th. This Saturn opposition Sun transit only happens once in thirty years and sometimes lasts off and on for many months. See what Saturn opposing your Sun may mean for you here.

On January 1st, retrograde Venus moves out of Aquarius (where it has visited only the first two degrees during the entire month of December) to start it's slow backward move through Capricorn. It will not return to Aquarius until early March.

Mars will be opposing Jupiter the whole month of January in the mid degrees of Taurus and Scorpio. The exact opposition happens on January 15th at 15 degrees. This will create a t-square for any Aquarians born in the middle third of the Aquarius zodiac sign. It's an energizing influence, but will be especially profound for people born between February 4th to February 7th as these people are also experiencing the once-in-a-lifetime Neptune conjunct Sun transit.

On January 20th the Sun enters Aquarius. This is a good thirty day period for Aquarians to shine. Especially this year as Mercury (planet of communication) will be closely tied to the Sun in Aquarius until February 9th.

For a complete one year forecast for Aquarians see Neil Giles' 2006 Aquarius Forecast here.
